Can anyone advise where to get some metal windscreen wiper arms for my 1939 Rover 12 P2. The current ones are sightly bent and Meteor Supplies tell me they can't get hold of any. Any advice would be much appreicated. Thanks, Bob

Hi Robert

Try www.vintagemotorspares.com and look under washers/wipers - they have a range there that might suit, although to be fair I've not used the company before.

Cheers

Ant

Yes I agree, Tim Hodgkiss is very helpfull.

Paul Beck Vintage Supplies also stocks wipers that may suit but there is a probem with them that needs overcoming. On the nearside wiper arm, the linkage tends to lift the blade away from the screen, to counteract this, its necessary to fit an omni-directional linkage/universal joint that is available for modelmaking...I believe they are available from ebay. Also the slave spindle needs to be shortened, I have not got to this stage yet in my restoration but have spoken to other owners that this is necessary.

On a further note, Tim Hodgkiss also stocks reproductions of the original Lucas type electrical junction boxes that are original to the 1935 cars, these boxes are the type by Lucas that have the ' pop on ' metal tops and bakelite bodies. There were originally two sizes, these are copies of the smaller size with the three terminals, one is situated next to the horn ( which on my 10s are inside the engine bay on the offside chassis ) and the other is on the scuttle. The larger box is inside under the dashboard. There were two of the smaller ones and one of the larger. Tim Hodgkiss had these made special, they are not in his literature, I spoke to him recently and he has no plans at the moment to get a copy of the larger size reproduced.

are you still searching for these, if so what is the length and are they of the type that are simply held onto shafts with captive springs inside the arms?
