Rover 16
A Rover 16 that arrived in my garage today, it appears to be mostly complete but has suffered from being outside for some years with a leaking sunroof. The following is just a photo dump. More info to follow:

Hi Paul,
Hat off to you for taking this one on! Looks like just about everything inside and outside requires attention. On the up-side it also appears to be very complete, so you do have something to start with. I wonder if the mileage is correct or plus 100k? Let’s hope it’s correct as that will bode well for the mechanical bits.
A real challenge, but a cracking car is hiding amongst the dusty parts I’m sure.
Best of luck. Be great to see it at Roverfest next year!
Tony.

Re: Rover 16
The following is a short video of the engine running, using an external electric pump and fuel can but on the original pink lodge plugs with new contact breakers and rotor arm, no exhaust as rotted away. I think it sounds OK. Maybe the 33K on the clock is genuine!

Sounds good. Great to see an old motor come to life again.
Well done.

Re: Rover 16
it has been a few weeks and some progress has been made. The inside is stripped and all the leather surfaces seem to be salvageable but strangely all the seat springs and metal supports have rusted away and most of the wood is rotten. I have been feeding the leather for the past month and it is now supple enough to remove, which I have done and have laid it all out in flat piles, ready for more cleaning and eventually re-stitching.
Following on from the engine running I have since been able to move it under it's oen power. The gearbox is stiff but works and the clutch seems OK.
I have bought some sheet steel and am now considering making repair sections for the sills and also making some running boards.
The following is the latest photo dump, not quite on the road yet!!

Much respect! I recently did a 1932 steel bodied short chassis Austin 7 tourer & that I thought was much work.....
