For Sale! Registration Plate P4 LKE

Post by ger2oo5 » Wed Dec 30, 2009 11:00 am

I have recently aquired the registration plate "P4 LKE" on a car which i recently purchased. The number plate is valued at approximately £400 according to http://www.nationalnumbers.co.uk/

The actual private registration is still attached to the car. The fee for exchanging a number plate from one vehicle to another is £80 and would have to be paid by the buyer (i.e. yourself).

I am looking for offers starting at £200 and will consider and reply to any offers by e-mail, usually on the same day. Any questions or queries then please dont hesitate to ask.

One thing that really gets on my nerves is spammers.

If they have something to sell then let them go through the proper channels of the Freewheel Magazine where they will have to pay for the privilege instead of coming onto the forum and their first and possibly only post is to sell something

Dont really see what the problem is :?:

It may be spam to you, but someone wanting to personalise their vehicle with a private registration might not see at as spam, especially seeing as it is appropriately advertised in the "I want, Ive got" forum section. Isnt this exactly what this particular forum is for? (i.e. Posting parts you wish to buy and sell?)

Well it is spam and that is not what the forum is about.
The RSR has proper channels that you should go through if you wish to sell something and I don't see why you should get free advertising whilst club members have to pay for the privilege. At the end of the day we are a club, we have to pay our subscription fees which keep the club afloat, we have to pay if we want to advertise, the club has expenses which come from our subscriptions and advertising and for people like you to have free advertising is not right.

You should read this link from wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spam_(electronic) so that you know exactly what spam is, as i doubt you truly know the real meaning of this ;)

Let me just reiterate the first line of this wiki page "Spam is the abuse of electronic messaging systems (including most broadcast media, digital delivery systems) to send unsolicited bulk messages indiscriminately".

Now, please correct me if im wrong, but i have posted this topic in the "I want Ive, got forum" which is for users wishing to buy, sell or swap parts. I do not see how my post is spam or anymore annoying to you than these posts also posted in this forum:
http://www.rover-forum.thersr.org/viewt ... ?f=9&t=600
http://www.rover-forum.thersr.org/viewt ... p?f=9&t=60
http://www.rover-forum.thersr.org/viewt ... p?f=9&t=59

I think you have quite some cheek in your statements considering the last 2 x links were actually posted by yourself in an attempt to sell and profit using this very forum. So what is your problem? Is it because im a new member? If so, all i can say is grow up and if you truly belive this to be spam please, please, please feel free to inform the website admin who im sure will remove this topic if they do indeed agree with you.

Please explain why you indeed have not used these "proper channels" when you posted these topics below?

Does anyone else actually agree with this guys argument? If so, please get in touch and i shall actually contact admin myself and ask for this topic to be removed.

@47p2
Theres a little saying that im sure everyone, even people like you!, should be familiar with. Something to do with throwing stones and glass houses, Ring a bell? Let me know if you dont understand ;)

Ger do you own a Rover ? I don't think you do, I agree with John you are only here to sell some poxy poncey private plate and not have to pay say the likes of ebay a listing fee or an advertising fee in the local rag. It IS spam.

Ok, so you agree with your old pal John, as you call him, that this is spam. Fair enough! Ive contacted admin and requested that the topic be reviewed and removed if considered to indeed be spam, just as i stated i would earlier. Maybe you too should do this if you feel so strongly and if you feel i have somehow gone against this websites rules for posting.

Do i own a rover? Yes, i own a rover 400, but it is not road worthy at the moment due to the engine seizing in sept 09. Will probs have to scrap it, but i still own it. Currently looking for a rover 25 if you know of any ;)

However, I did not realise that owning a rover was mandtory for joining this website or posting in this forum. It said nothing of this when i joined. I thought it was for rover enthusiasts, rather than just owners.

As for the "Poncey" & "Poxy" comment, there is no need to use such vulgarities. It only belittles you to others.

Oh sorry you own a Rover, Well it is an easy conclusion to make you appear out of no where, there is no introduction no interaction with the forum members you go straight for selling the Reg Plate so you have to admit it does look like thats the only reason you have come here. You are indeed right it isn't compulsary to own a Rover to post here but it's just good manners to say hello etc before trying to sell items on a forum, many fora have a minmum post count before you are able to advertise items for sale because these forum get many many people just trying to flog tat, no i'm not saying that applies to you but it happens a hell of a lot and it is annoying because it feels like the forum is being used as a means to an end.

by the way avoid Rover 25's with Petrol engines as you have found out with the 400 the K series wasn't Rover's best when it came to reliablity.
