Hi,
I need to take the top 2 halves of my bonnet apart so that I can send the central chorme strip to another P3 owner here - he is restoring a P3 (good news) and needs the strip.
I can't work out how to separate the 2 halves of the bonnet top. I have searched my manuals and this forum (though I may have missed an answer).
Any tips gratefull received!!
Many Thanks Neil Henderson
BTW this is the 2nd guy here in Australia that I'm supply old parts to - we'll be flooded with P3's soom...................

I would suspect that you need to place the bonnet upside down and withdraw the steel pin (which runs the full length of the bonnet hinge) from one of the ends

Re: bonnet - removing central chrome strip
Finally managed to separate the bonnet - you were right 47P2 - the rod needs to be pulled out to allow the 2 halves to separate. The rod in my bonnet hadn't moved since 1948 (I think) so was a tad stiff, but an overnight soaking in WD40 helped moved things along a bit.
So, I can now supply Trevor Dunne in Rathmines NSW) with boxes of bits to help his P3 restoration
So thanks again to the RSR Forum Regards Neil

Neil can you post some pics here? I want to know what you have done with bonnet? Usually I am going to garage if I want to do any work related to vehicle but I am also learning to do by myself.
