1936 Rover 10 JU 9351

Post by Phil - Nottingham » Wed May 07, 2014 7:37 pm

Someone I know has asked if a car once owned by him over 20 years is known to the club. It is certainly not on the DVLA site under that number. Last heard of in the Retford area.

Any information would be helpful

Thanks

Showing on the RAC website as below and as you say not on the DVLA website which could mean the number has been transferred and put 'on hold'

Vehicle Details for registration number JU9351
Make ROVER 10
Year of manufacture
Model Engine size (CC) 1389

Hi there Phil

This car is known to the RSR and it is a rare woody estate and is in fact an 1937 model probably registered in late 1936.

According to the RSR archives it was first in the Register in in 1980 when owned by a member in Skegness, and there was a picture and article in Freewheel 220 of April 1990. It appears again in 2007 when purchased by a member in Mapperley Notts who still owns it and in his 2013 renewal form described the car as condition C ie very good.

Trust this is of some help to your friend.

Thanks Andrew. I thought I recognized the number. I went to look at a Woody once in Derby years ago but not sure whether its this one as it was in a state.

Considering Mapperley is only 6-7 miles from where we live I have never seen JU 9351 out
