My 1947 tourer has no plated trim strip along the vertical face of the bottom of the front wings & the "step board valence" Looking at the parts list there is nothing shown as "replacing" or "additional" so it looks as if the strip is the same as the 12 saloon(held on by two 2BA screws and 10spring clips)
The photos in Howard Jones' excellent book show some with & some without! Most look about 1/2" or 3/4" deep, but there are some with full depth strips or even one strip for the wing & one for the step board!
Any advice ? ideas?
Front wing/running board beading

See here a note about assembling : https://wp.me/pXLKy-3Sf
Re: Front wing/running board beading
Thanks! Assemble carefully!
there is a bead fitted between the wing & the running board (like the body/wing bead. If this is taken down the vertical seam of the Running board it will create a "bump"! Should it be there or just on the horizontal face? Any ideas?

Re: Front wing/running board beading
There should I think be an almost flat rubber gasket between the front wing and the stepboard which slight rounded overlap profile to the top the outer corner of which is curved to the same profile as the stepboard. See pic below showing all rubber compenents with the front gasket at the bottom. It is held in place by the fixing bolts between wing and stepboard. There is a similar gasket at the rear end of the stepboard but this is fixed to a small meatal plate and doesnt tough the rear wing which is pretty small in this location. 2 views below showing small overlap and end plate.

It should be horizontal and in the same plane. No bumps.
