1949 P3 rescue

Post by TomSayles » Sun Nov 19, 2023 7:45 pm

Dear Friends,

I have recently started the rescue of my 1949 P3 75. Thanks to Chris Cartmell, after almost 12 months, the DVLA agreed to give me a registration number. Chris is brilliant

I will try to attach a photo of the car when I took it to the local Rally in John o' Groats this last summer.

I would really like to establish contact with someone who has done one of these before. I have restored almost 20 classics over the years, but this one is something of a challenge !! I have (re)constructed most of the metalwork around the rear end, boot lid, rear suspension, boot floor and inner wings. I have the necessary parts from Mike Evans to sort out the cilles and running boards, but what I need at the moment is some guidance over the timber construction of the 'C' post and rear quarter light window surround. Is there anyone out there who can supply the necessary timber sections, or do I just use my imagination ?????

a hopeful

Tom
