Post by dex1961 » Mon Oct 07, 2024 7:45 pm

Hi Dex,

If it’s the same as my ‘37 saloon, I seem to recall that the metal part that the mechanism wheels run in remains stuck to the glass and that the mechanism itself can be removed, leaving the glass in situ. Obviously you will need to hold the glass up when you do this to prevent it dropping. I’d suggest strong adhesive tape on the glass and onto the frame.

Hope that helps.

Tony.

Bad luck with the parts numbers - not only do all models (ie 10/12, 14 ,16 or 20) have different number for complete gearboxes, each year of all models has different numbers! (Apart from 1940 16 and 20 or 1947 14 and 16 ) You would have to go through the separate components to find which are the same............
