Hi everyone,
I've finally joined after all these years. I have a 1949 p3 75 right hand drive that I got back in 2004 as a graduation present and have been dry storing since. I got its from a old time family friends who didn't trust his family not to hot rod it. He got its years earlier from a helicopter pilot who crashed and ended up paralyzed. I need to get the numbers off it as I'm curious trying to find out more of its history as I'm in Washington state USA. And it's a right hand drive car with a GB plate tag. I now work as a automotive mechanic and am about to start this project. Back in 2004 I bought every part I could find off of ebay including a p4 shop manual. Couldn't find a p3. I also got into 3d printing so really excited about Making anything that's missing and playing with casting or metal plating 3d printed parts. I know I'm a bit long winded but it's been 19 years of dreaming.

Welcome to the forum and well done hanging onto the car for such a long time. If you let us know the registration number (GB tag plate) there may be someone here who may know the car and be able to give you some more information.

After alot of scubbing got the chasis number 9432484. Still need to find the engine number.

The washington state license plate is from 1969. It has a white tag that says GB but no plate from over seas. Will keep looking into things and research.

I though when you said it had a GB tag plate that the car still had its GB licence number.
The chassis plate shows it is a 1949 Rover P3 car with the 6 cylinder 2.1 Litre, 75hp engine and is a four light (2 windows each side) Sport Saloon of which there were 2630 produced between 1948-1949

Hello and welcome to the RSR (Rover Sports Register) Forum. If you found this site you have probably found the club website. On it you will see there are the P3 manuals and parts lists for sale. However you will get a better deal and in the long run lots of help if you join. All the best with your dream project.

If you contact the british motor museum in Gaydon, they can provide a Hertiage certificate and sometimes build sheet details..https://www.britishmotormuseum.co.uk/ar ... rtificates
Depending on how much detail was recorded by rover when they built it, they will probably be able to tell you the colour combinations and any options. They may even have details of the first owner.
The Bentley Heritage certificates I have include details of the first 6 owners!
