Took the green car up to PD Gough in Nottingham to have a new stainless system fitted. They had it ready, although I did not need the downpipe - could not get it off and it was in decent condition. So they made up brackets etc to suit I now have a non leaking & quiet system. They were happy to put the downpipe in stock, so if someone needs one....give them a call
They really do know their stuff.
I drove up from Stratford using M69/M1...very busy, but sat at 55/60 among the artics! so decided to come home via Donington A38 past Lichfield....Not a good move! The section past the Belfry and Hams Hall is a zoo with the HS2 going through it! Not helped by knowing I was getting low on fuel & was not convinced the reserve switch worked (although I did have a 5 litre can). Sure enough that was where it died....I switched over & …she lived!
I still stopped & put in the 5 litres! as I didn't want sludge up the pipe!
Only slight problem the new non leaky system pops a bit sometimes on the overrun...so air getting in somewhere upstream I expect.
Wonderful weather & even had the car washed by the Albanian Hand Wash team up the road from Gough's, they hadn't seen anything like the tourer and did a really good job!
160 mile round trip on a lovely sunny day...perfick!
