P3 Dashboard

I am putting back the wooden dashboard and centre instrument panel after working on the interior and notice that the majority of the P3s have a black centre panel. Mine is grey/silver and does not appear to have been overpainted at any time. I see Mike Couldry has black covering transfers for sale for the P3 but don’t want to change the finish on mine if it is original and in its base metal finish. Any knowledge to pass on would be appreciated.
