Hi
Does anyone know what models of P6 Rover fitted the 165HR14 Pirelli Cinturato and between which years?

Re: Original tyres
Hi Dougal
I believe the Pirelli tyres were fitted throughout the run of the P6 2000/2200. They were designed specifically for the car.
There was a bit of bad feeling in the tyre industry, and it took a bit of time (circa 1965) before the Dunlop equivalent tyre was approved by Rover.
Cheers
Nick

Re: Original tyres
Dougal,
Although the P6's were factory fitted with Pirelli Cinturatos I don't think 165HR14 tyres would have been fitted to any P6's - HR spec tyres are for 125mph, which 4 cylinder P6's wouldn't do! The V8's did have HR tyres, but they were 185HR14's not 165's.
Another interesting thing I discovered when fitting new tyres to my 1964 car (now sold
) was that the early ones had inner tubes!
Cheers,
Simon
