Number of P2s in Existence

Post by bruceclaudette » Tue Jul 23, 2013 11:47 am

Hi Folks,
People often ask me how many cars like my 1946 Rover 16 Sports Saloon survive
Does anyone have figures for p2s broken down into types and total?
They were manufactured from 36 when first displated at Wembley to 47 with a break during the war of course.

Hi Bruce,

This question has come along before. The problem is many cars are not known to clubs, many are barn finds and many simply ' lost ' or overseas. I have taken upon myself to archive and catalogue the remaining Rover P1 1935 year model 10hps...I have two, plus a ' 38 P2 Coupe.

I have contacted RSR members with this model, all replied save one but I do possess the cars details, and since have found two more , the last being sold through ebay last month ( item 281121602667 ), I tried to contact the seller but only received a curt reply. The registration number is ASV 299.

The total to date is 11...there are many more, possibly the total is around 30 ..just tracking them down is the problem.

Best of luck
1934 ( 1935 model ) P1 '10' Saloon RD 6160
1935 P1 '10' Saloon ( originally JB 6729 ) now VSJ 156
1946 P2 '14' Sports Saloon KPG 855
1933 MG J2 Cycle Wing Model APB 560
1933 MG J2 Competition Model ALX 124
